The 2015 Poets at Perkins Observatory: Rachel Wiley!

Rachel WileyThe second poet who will be reading for us at Poetry at Perkins 2015: In Celebration of the Night Sky is Rachel Wiley. Rachel is a poet and body positive activist from Columbus, Ohio, where she is on staff at Writing Wrongs Poetry Slam. She has competed in multiple national and international poetry slams and her work has been featured on Upworthy, The Huffington Post, and Everyday Feminism. Her first full length poetry collection Fat Girl Finishing School was released in 2014 from Timber Mouse Publishing.

The 2015 Poets at Perkins Observatory: Steve Abbott!

Steve AbbottThe first poet who will be reading for us at Poetry at Perkins 2015: In Celebration of the Night Sky is Steve Abbott. Steve is emeritus professor of English at Columbus State and a founding member of Columbus’s Poetry Forum. He is widely published and has edited the poetry anthologies Cap City Poets, a collection of work by 74 central Ohio poets, and Everything Stops and Listens, featuring work by members of the Ohio Poetry Association. He has been associate editor of several literary journals and edits the Ohio Poetry Association’s annual journal Common Threads.

Poets Announced for our Second Annual Benefit Reading at Perkins Observatory!

Full/Crescent Press is proud to announce the talented poets who will be performing for our SECOND ANNUAL benefit reading “Poetry at Perkins: In Celebration of the Night Sky.” The event this year is scheduled for Saturday, May 16th, 8:00-10:00 p.m., and our readers will be Steve Abbott, Rachel Wiley, Fred Kirchner, Betsy Clark, Aaron Alsop, Sayuri Ayers, Michael Stout, and Chiquita Mullins-Lee! Our host for the evening will once again be the wonderful Bill Hurley. Mark your calendars! Ticket purchase information should be available on our Community Readings page by the end of the week, and we will start posting full poet bios there as well.
