The 2015 Poets at Perkins Observatory: Chiquita Mullins-Lee!

Chiquita Mullins-LeeChiquita Mullins-Lee is the final poet reading for Poetry at Perkins 2015: In Celebration of the Night Sky! Chiquita is Arts Learning Program coordinator for the Ohio Arts Council. She has received fellowships from both the Ohio Arts Council and Greater Columbus Arts Council, including an OAC Individual Excellence Award in creative writing. She was OAC’s 2007 Summer Writer-in-Residence at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, MA, and has been published in national literary anthologies. She was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and is featured on the Long Street Cultural Wall in Columbus, Ohio. Recently, she performed in Dave Carley’s, Twelve Hours, named among Columbus Dispatch’s Best in Theater 2014, and she writes and performs with Columbus-based Wild Women Writing. Her critically-acclaimed play Pierce to the Soul premiered in 2010 at CATCO and has toured with A Portable Theatre Company. She is a member of New Covenant Believers Church and has been involved in the drama and media ministries.
